For THIS POSITION POSTED ABOVE:

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for design and development of
innovative light weight High Rate Discharge suppression components and
systems, using a variety of new agents, materials and actuation
approaches. The incumbent will ensure design preparation is in
accordance with customer and applicable specifications including
technical reports and cost proposals. Works cross-functionally to
coordinate design and engineering documentation releases and
participates in various functional team activities.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversees fabrication and conducts testing on development and
prototype hardware.
2. Prepares data and analysis as required for specific programs
(stress, FEA, R&M etc.).
3. Prepares reports to document results of design studies, trade
studies, failure analyses and test programs.
4. Evaluates field problems and recommends design changes.
5. Provides technical assistance to manufacturing as required.

BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering or
Engineering Technology; advanced Engineering degree is a plus.
Minimum of 3 years proven experience in new product development and design.
Experience and knowledge should include medium to low volume metal
manufacturing processes, 3D design, pressure vessel design, valve
design, elastomers and seal configurations, welding processes, heat
treating and brazing, metal finishing; and familiar with fluid
handling product and seal design, ferrous and non-ferrous casting and
forging techniques.
Analytical skills in fluid flows, heat transfer and thermodynamics and
capable of performing FEA and CFD analysis.
Must have excellent communication, written and organizational skills
and enjoy working in a fast paced team environment.

This position will be responsible for leading a product development team in mechanical and aerodynamic design of high performance rotating equipment. Technical experience should include a solid grasp of Aerodynamic Engineering related to blade design for turbo machinery. Candidates should have successfully completed engineering projects in this field from inception to production and have experience integrating a number of technologies into final motor/fan product (Aerodynamic, Motor, and Electronics). The individual will facilitate communication between Mechanical and Electrical Design Engineers along with Application Engineers to evolve the best design approach for a customer specification. Minimum Position Requirements: Perform Aircraft Level Design and Integration of Avionics and Automatic Flight Control Systems through Supplemental Type Certificate process. Define requirements, complete design, and implement modifications in aircraft. Includes mechanical design, structural load testing and reports, installation instructions and maintenance information. Modifications include individual installations of avionic units, antenna installations, flight control servo installations, through instrument panel design for integrated cockpit installations. Work with internal and external modification centers to complete work. Take lead in aircraft certification projects. Participate in cross-functional teams through completion of STC or TC project.

Basic Qualifications: Candidate must have at least a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline. Candidate must have at least 5 years related experience in Aircraft Structures. Candidate must have understanding of federal regulations regarding certification of aircraft structures. Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident.

Additional Qualifications:A degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred. Prior experience working with the FAA is strongly preferred. DER designation is preferred. Candidates should have experience in the mechanical design of aircraft installations/modifications. Candidates with at least one year of experience using CAD package, Pro/E or AutoCAD experience is a plus. Self-starter and effective learner who brings tasks to completion in a timely manner Works well in a team and individually with minimum of guidance after initial training period.
